-
How do users book a visitor parking bay in advance?Users access the VPS portal via desktop or mobile, register their guest vehicle, and select an available bay. They receive confirmation and either control the bollard remotely to allow visitor access or benefit from fully automated entry via camera recognition. Booking confirmations are sent to both the user and the visitor.
-
Are users notified if a visitor overstays their booking?VPS sends automatic email alerts to both the user and the visitor if the booking time is exceeded. Users can log in to rebook if more time is needed.
-
Are there alarms or alerts if someone misuses the parking bay? While the bollards are equipped with alarms, these have been disabled to avoid unnecessary disruption, especially in basement areas. Instead, the system sends digital alerts to building managers for unscheduled entries and to users and visitors for overstays.
-
What happens if someone enters without a booking?Unscheduled entries trigger an alert to the building manager via the VPS admin portal, allowing prompt review and follow-up.
-
How do I access the VPS portal?Access the portal at visitorparking.com.au. Then click on login. Add the portal to your mobile home screen via Chrome or Safari.
-
Do users need an app to control the bollards? No app is required. VPS operates via a secure web-based portal that works across all devices. It also can be automated using camera-based vehicle recognition.
-
How does VPS support efficient parking for worksite staff?VPS ensures staff have guaranteed and reliable parking spots, reducing time spent searching for parking and improving punctuality. Real-time monitoring and booking control help manage high-demand periods and shift changes.
-
How does VPS improve parking access for healthcare patients, visitors, and staff?VPS provides efficient parking management to ensure patients and visitors have easy access to bays, including priority spots for elderly or mobility-impaired patients. It also accommodates the needs of healthcare staff and emergency access, helping reduce stress and ensure timely arrival for appointments.
-
How does the bollard system work?On arrival the bollard is lowered remotely via the VPS portal. When the visitor leaves, the bollard automatically rises to secure the bay again. For properties with camera integration, number plate recognition automates gate access and bollard control, allowing hands-free entry and exit.
-
Who controls the bollards - residents or visitors?Bollards are controlled solely by authorised users such as residents or building administrators via the VPS portal. Gate access and bollard lowering can also be fully automated through number plate recognition.
-
Can visitors open the bollard themselves? No. For security and accountability, only the resident or administrator can lower the bollard using the VPS platform. However, where camera integration is installed, vehicle recognition automates entry without visitor or resident action.
-
Does the bollard automatically rise when the visitor leaves? When the visitor's vehicle exits the bay, the bollard automatically returns to the upright position within 30 seconds. There is no manual control needed on exit.
-
What equipment is required to install VPS?VPS includes smart bollards, surface or sub-surface sensors, and a web-based booking platform. Installation is easy and integrates with access control or security systems.
-
How secure is the system against unauthorised access?Only authorised users can control bollards, and all activity is logged for accountability. For added security, camera integration ensures automated, contactless access based on vehicle recognition.
-
How does VPS reduce parking disputes and improve parking compliance?VPS provides a fair and transparent system as all bookings are logged. VPS ensures only authorised visitors can access parking bays. Overstay alerts, access history, and user controls help prevent misuse and eliminate common parking conflicts in residential, commercial, and healthcare settings.
-
Is VPS suitable for high-rise apartment complexes and large commercial buildings?VPS is used in boutique and high-density apartment buildings as well as commercial complexes, offering scalable technology for all parking configurations.
-
Can building managers monitor parking activity?Through the VPS admin portal, building managers can view live bay occupancy, track parking usage, generate reports, and receive alerts for any misuse.
-
Does VPS offer a solution for EV charging bay management?VPS supports management of EV charging bays and prevents unauthorised vehicles from occupying these valuable spots and gives EV drivers a guaranteed time slot.
-
Can VPS be customised for our building’s needs?VPS can be tailored to your building’s requirements, including time limits, booking rules, camera-based access control, and integrations with your existing management systems. VPS integrates via APIs to work seamlessly with most access control and building management platforms.
-
Can VPS integrate a payment system via credit card for EV charging?VPS can also integrate a credit card payment system for EV charging and will ultimately pay a dividend to the building for this installation.
